QNX-OPC Interface From Nautsilus Works at Printing Control
November 18, 2002 -- Moscow -- Web Printing Controls had implemented Nautsilus solution for QNX to OPC connection.
Web Printing Controls Inc. (USA) produces operator control panels for printing
machines. Rob Samaryczew from Web Printing Controls defines their problem:
'All of our systems run under QNX, everytime we have to interface with somebody else their
system is Windows based.'
But now there is a good solution - QNX OPC Server and OPC Explorer from Nautsilus.
'We use Nautsilus OPC Explorer to change Master Ink and Water settings from our ink control desk that we manufacture', Rob Samaryczew continues. 'Master Ink/Water values reside in AB (Rockwell) RSLinx OPC server which connects to PLCs on the printing press.'
'I have been at the customer in Colorado, doing our second OPC to QNX connection, using your
software. It works GREAT. Data transfer rate is just fine. I usually set update rate to 200ms in OPCExplorer, and on QNX side I have a proxy timer at 10ms to check read_queue.'Nautsilus OPC Explorer is an OPC client tool that provides data monitoring, performance measurement, diagnostics, and interface validation for any OPC server. It is invaluable for anyone building or troubleshooting applications which use OPC data. Nautsilus OPC Explorer simplifies the task to import live data originating from any OPC Server into office applications such as Microsoft Excel.
OPC Client for QNX is used to link a QNX Application to MS Windows OPC Server.
